An Inviting Community
Therefore, accept each other just as Christ has accepted you so that God will be given glory. - Romans 15:7
Whether our visitors are Christians or not, our mission remains the same. Indeed, Christ invites us all to a full relationship with him, and so, therefore, it is the duty of the Church to be inviting to everyone regardless of our backgrounds. If you have been a member of Bethel your whole life or if this will be your first visit, we will make it our goal to ensure that you will feel equally invited to our church every Sunday and for all our activities throughout the week.
Seeking God
Samuel did not yet know the Lord because he had never had a message from the Lord before...And the Lord came and called as before, "Samuel! Samuel!" And Samuel replied, "Speak, your servant is listening." - 1 Samuel 3:7,10
God calls us all time and time again. Every Sunday, we begin anew and become like the person we once were when we never knew the Lord. Each person is once again a "seeker". We wish to provide the atmosphere where the seeker in all of us can say, "Speak, your servant is listening".
Growing in Christ
I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God's love and keep you strong. And may you have the power to understand, as all God's people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God. - Ephesians 3:16-19
A stagnant faith is useless. Our own faith life (and by extension, the Church as a whole) should be in a constant state of growth. As our roots in Christ grow deep, and we continue to reach high and seek God, we will grow in our maturity as Christ's disciple.
Caring for all
This makes for harmony among the members, so that all the members care for each other. If one part suffers, all the parts suffer with it, and if one part is honored, all the parts are glad. All of you together are Christ's body, and each of you is a part of it. - 1 Corinthians 12:25-27
A church is built on so much more than bricks and mortar. It is built first and foremost on relationships. A relationship with our God and then relationships with each other. Therefore, it is necessary to create and nurture those relationships. We strive to do our utmost to prevent anyone from falling by the wayside in their journey, nor should we bring others down for our personal gain. We are travelling this journey, not as individuals, but as one body.
