Isaiah 55:1 says "Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat!"  In a time when so many people are hungry to fill the emptiness in their lives the Lord promises to provide for us.  We discover this truth as we look at the story of the Prophet Elijah in 1 Kings 17:1-6 and how the Lord provided for him in a miraculous way.  In the same way we are called to look to the Lord to provide for us and fill the emptiness too many of us experience. Pastor Derek Bouma will lead us in this service which also includes communion.

  • Series - Questions Jesus Asks - 7 View

    Pastor Eric Groot-Nibbelink - July 23, 2021

In general, Jesus asks a lot of questions that force us to look deep within ourselves. This week’s question again requires that deep self-reflection ... and more! We are asking not just ‘what about us?’ but also ‘what about others?’ In our scripture from : Luke 10:25-37 and the parable of the good Samaritan Jesus asks, ‘Which of these three do you think was a neighbour?’
  • SERIES - Questions Jesus Asks - 6 View

    Pastor Eric Groot-Nibbelink - July 16, 2021

Our summer series entitled “Questions Jesus Asks” moves on to our sixth installment. Worry and anxiety plague many people, some more easily than others. In many cases there are deep-seated psychological and even physiological reasons behind people’s anxiety. Keeping such realities in mind, we know we can’t simply label all issues of anxiety as a condition that has a easy cure. However, we can find strength in Jesus and that in all circumstances, Jesus understands us, reassures us and gives us direction. Jesus also invites us to the firm ground that begins with God, trusting his love and his care. We may find security in him, putting his kingdom first. Our Scripture reading from Mathew 6:25-34 helps us reflect on Jesus’ question “Which of you by worrying can add a single hour onto your life?”

  • "What Do You Want?" View

    Pastor Eric Groot-Nibbelink - June 03, 2021

Today we begin a new series entitled “Top Questions Jesus Asks”. It is an intriguing exercise to go through Scripture and notice how many of Jesus’ responses to people and interactions with others come in the form of questions. I read of one student of the Bible who went through the four gospels and by his count arrived at a total of 307 questions asked by Jesus. Apparently, Jesus answers 8 of them but leaves 299 for us to answer. This series takes a look at only a few of the 307 and prods us all to answer for ourselves. This week, the first question for our deliberation is “What do you want?” from John 1:38.
