This month there are three invitations-challenges that are being put before us. The first is the invitation to be a part of or create DNA groups, for prayer and care as we follow Jesus together. A half page describing these groups and the possibilities for them was shared and placed in each one of our mail slots, with extras available at the welcome center. The second challenge is called the “6-8 Word Challenge” by which we are encouraged to find those 6-8 words (in a phrase, in a list of words, in a Bible verse) that most meaningfully connect us to that ‘hope that is within us.’ (see 1 Peter 3:15) We are encouraged to ‘be prepared’ with those words as opportunities arise to share them.
The THIRD CHALLENGE is simply for all of us as members at Bethel to memorize Psalm 100. We do so in advance of the first Sunday in November when we plan to take note of Bethel’s 50 years of existence; the hope is to recite Psalm 100 together from memory on that Sunday, September 2018. Three invitations-challenges. Let’s take them together!
“Let us not stop meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing but encourage one another as you see the Day approaching.” Hebrews 10:25
