    DNA Prayer Groups

"Work out your salvation with fear and trembling." Phil 2:12 September 7, 2018 Pastor Eric Groot-Nibbelink

One of things we want to do this church season at Bethel is to encourage one to go deeper in our faith-walk, to take the next step and to take responsibility for the formation and growth of our faith.

Prayer is a valuable context in which that kind of deepening may take -and specifically being part of a DNA GROUP is a practical way of creating that context.

You may remember that the idea of a DNA group was mentioned in one of the chapters of the book SURPRISE THE WORLD! which was given out last church season.  Such a group consists of regularly getting together with others to share thoughts and prayers related to three words, DISCIPLESHIP, NURTURE  and ACCOUNTABILITY, with nurture being central and basic.

To aid in praying, note the following questions.

    DISCIPLESHIP:

What am I doing in my journey as a follower of Jesus?

How am I reflecting the grace of Christ (in words and actions) to my family, neighbours and daily interactions with anyone I may meet?

    NURTURE:

Simply, how am I doing in life?  For what am I thankful?  In what do I need prayer?

    ACCOUNTABILITY:

In what areas of my following Jesus do I need encouragement and strengthening?
