What to Expect
Services begin at 10:00 AM every Sunday. We begin with words and music to worship God, followed by words and music to confess our sins and thank him for forgiveness. A children’s story is then shared, at which point children are dismissed for Sunday School. A sermon follows, so that we may be enlightened to a greater understanding of God and his word. We finish the service around 11:30 AM with more worship.
Following the service, feel free to join us for coffee and other refreshments in the fellowship hall, or visit the welcome centre in the main foyer to learn more about the church. We look forward to meeting you.
Frequently Asked Questions
What about young children?
We provide a nursery for all children from infants up to ~3 years old. All adults babysitting your children have had a police background check in accordance with our Safe Church Team policies. The nursery can be found near the South entrance.
Preschool – Grade 5 children?
During the service (prior to the Sermon), children aged 3 up to about grade 5 will be invited to come to the front to hear a version of the sermon specifically targeted for their age group. After the children’s story, they are invited to go to Sunday School for singing, lessons, and crafts while the rest of us stay for the sermon.
And young people?
Pre-teens and teenagers are of course encouraged to stay for the sermon (rest assured, they will find the sermons relevant too). We also offer many exciting programs throughout the week including Cadets (boys club), GEMS (girls club). Our youth join with Talbot Street Church Youth every other Sunday evening. These programs provide an excellent opportunity to connect with their peers, continue to learn Christianity from an age appropriate level, and live out their faith in their everyday lives.
What should I wear?
Feel free to dress casually and comfortably.
What weekday activities are available?
Be sure to visit our Get Connected page for more information on all our programs, including activities ranging from Bible studies, prayer meetings and children's programs, to social events and exercises classes.
Is Bethel Church accessible?
Our facilities should be accessible by everybody. Wheelchair entrances are on the West side. We provide services for the deaf and hard of hearing, and those with vision loss as well. If you require assistance in any respect, do not hesitate to ask your greeter.
I still have a question about…
If you have any additional questions, please be sure to send an e-mail to the church through the “Contact” page. Also feel free to ask our members and volunteers for more information. If we do not have the answer, we should be able to find someone who does.
